The village emblem was adopted on Apr 1st 1972 but there is no flag law.
The purple flag has a green village emblem in the center and the kanji name in white horizontally at the bottom.
The village emblem is a stylized hiragana くに Kuni of Kunigami in a form of mountain forest.
It represents the land form, reconciliation, peace, solidarity and the exponential development of the industrial culture.
